You have been talking about wanting to go fishing for months--one of your friends, Connor, talks about it at school and apparently you decided you wanted to go, too. Daddy took you to WalMart where you bought your very first fishing rod--a Barbie one--and then on September 12th he took you fishing..just the two of you. The first lake he took you to was a local one around the Sherwood area but there weren't any fish biting so then he took you to the one you wanted to go to (the little public "pond" next to the police station) and you proceeded to catch 2 fish--Daddy only caught 1 (but according to him, he wasn't really "fishing"--just trying to help you catch fish). You really had a great time and talk about going back all the time!! I think Daddy is planning on taking you again before it gets too cold!! Here are some pics he took of your special time together!! It melts my heart knowing you two are making memories you'll always cherish!!

Gymnastics
Daddy & I always said when you got old enough we would put you in Gymnastics. You started classes on August 19th at Mega Gymnastics in NLR. Needless to say you are having a blast doing the classes. At first we were a little "ify" about taking the classes there because it seemed pretty disorganized because of the teacher switches you experienced the first few classes but it seems to have gotten straightened out. Tessa & Taylor are also taking classes with you and Catie (your friend from school) just joined you guys two weeks ago. Here are some pictures taken from the first class--we had Aiden enrolled but due to his age and attention span we withdrew him at the end of August because it just wasn't working out--he was too much of a distraction to everyone else in the class......
New School Year
On Monday, August 16th, the new school year began at CEC. You moved up to the 3-year old class room and Ms. Brianna Rhodes is your new teacher. There are so many new and exciting things you'll get to experience this year such as Spanish lessons and computer lessons. Ms. Brianna takes a more relaxed approach to "teaching" you all new things because her philosophy is children learn through play--at first I was skeptical there wasn't a more structured "plan" but I have to admit you have already begun exhibiting signs of all you've learned in just two short months!! Your letter recognition abilities is pretty awesome--you're constantly pointing out letters you find when we're in public and you know whose names in your room start with what letter. It's so fun watching you bright eyes fill with excitement when you see a letter you know.
You guys had a pet hamster but after about 3 attempts at keeping one alive, you just have two pet frogs now. I can't wait to look back at the end of the year and see all you've learned. It's sad to me, too, though because next year will be your last year of daycare before heading off to kindergarten!!

On Sunday, August 15th, the McCool's came over to eat dinner with us ( I think Daddy grilled). You and Harlee always have a blast when Callie comes over to play. Since they stayed late that night, I decided to go ahead and give you guys a bath together and boy, what fun you guys had splashing & playing!! Trying to get three kids to look at the camera & smile simultaneously is almost impossible, though!!
Happy 2nd Birthday, Jake!!
On Sunday, August 7th, we attended the 2nd birthday party of one of Aiden's classmates/friends, Jake Sityar at the Museum of Discovery. I didn't get many pictures from this party because I took you and Aiden by myself (Daddy was doing some stuff at Grandma's house) so I was busy trying to keep up with the two of you (the Museum was extremely crazy/hectic because they have free admission Sundays during the summer so there were LOTS of people there). This was a neat opportunity because Jake moved to Connecticut a few weeks after you guys started your new classes. Mackenzie and Matthew, two of Aiden's other friends, were also there!! You guys did have a lot of fun, though--at the end of the party, a Museum worker brought out a turtle and a rabbit for you guys to pet, etc. You definitely embarrassed me as we were leaving, though, because Ms. Katya (Jake's mom--he's half Russian, half Korean) had party favors for Jake's friends (and not for siblings, etc. which is totally understandable) and you thought you needed one too so you screamed at the TOP of your lungs "BUT I WANT ONE TOO; WHERE'S MINE"??? I couldn't get out of there fast enough!! The pictures below were borrowed from Melanie, Mackenzie's mommy.....
Happy 4th Birthday, Madi Grace!!
On August 7th, we attended Madi's 4th birthday party; she's the daughter of one of your Daddy & mine's friends. They had a party at their house in England for her. It was SUPER hot but you guys had fun petting all of the different animals (ducks, goat, horses, pig, rabbits) and you even got to ride on a horse!! They had a snow cone machine set up which you really enjoyed, too!! Here are some of the pics from the party....

First Eye Dr Appt
You had been complaining of headaches for a few weeks and one of your doctor's visits I mentioned to Dr. Wilson that I wanted to get your eyes examined to rule out poor eyesight as a culprit for all of your headaches. She thought it was a good idea since Daddy & I both had to have eyeglasses at a young age. I made you an appointment at the same clinic we go to (since there are no pediatric optometrists in the state of Arkansas). You saw Dr. Jason Bright on August 5th at 8:30 in the morning. You were such a big girl and listened and did everything you were asked to do. The machine they used told Dr. Bright that you had some slight farsightedness which means you have difficulty focusing on things close to you (which is strange to me since Daddy & I are both nearsighted). He said it wasn't enough to warrant eyeglasses and he felt confident it was something you would "outgrow" as your eyes are continuing to develop. He just suggested that we watch you to make sure you're not squinting, etc when you have things close to you and wants to see you again for a follow-up right before you begin kindergarten. Such a relief you didn't need glasses but you enjoyed getting the special attention, that's for sure!! You love going to the doctor!
Another Peabody Park Playdate
On July 31st, we met up with Catie (and her mom Ms. Krissy) and Noah (and his mom Ms. Jana) for another Peabody Park Playdate. From about 10 'til noon, you guys played in the water area and devoured the snacks everyone brought. Running around, laughing and taking in the boats/barges that passed by on the river were such a fun time for you guys and it gave the moms some time to visit & catch up (which is my favorite part of our playdates!) Here are some of the pics I was able to snap during our fun time!!
